World History Day is coming…

We hope everyone enjoyed the Fall Festival, our school PTO did an amazing job. We have a busy few days ahead of us preparing for World History Day. Thank you to all the parents who have helped us so far, we’re looking forward to a fun, successful day in the Paleozoic Era! We hope our afternoon friends are able to join us. Please remember P1 will be dismissed from school this Thursday at 11:15am and there will be NO SCHOOL Friday.

P1 is slowly transforming into the very first time era of history, when life first began. We have been discussing microscopic, single-celled organisms, invertebrates, and other living things that developed in the water. We have been talking about volcanoes and how land began to form. Thank you to those who have shared items from home including trilobite fossils.

Monday, October 28th at 10:00am we will have guests from African Drum & Dance. I would like to invite our afternoon friends to join us for this performance.

Big thank you to all the families that provide our room weekly with healthy snacks, flowers, bananas and crickets for our lizard. We appreciate all the things you do to make your child’s experience here at FMs the best it can be! Have a great week!

We Love Fall!

As the leaves begin to change color, so does the weather. Please make sure all sweaters and jackets are labeled with your child’s name. We have been working on covering our cough and properly blowing noses with hand washing to avoid spreading the little germs around our classroom. Remember to keep your children home if they aren’t feeling well, have a fever, and/or green mucus. This time of year they need lots of rest and healthy meals.

This week we began our study on mammals, the skeleton of different animals, parts of a pumpkin, and vertebrates vs. invertebrates. We took a close look at our hermit crab, an invertebrate.

Thank you for making the time to come in and meet us for parent-teacher conferences. It was lovely meeting all of you again! Also thank you for the scholastic books we received, looking forward to adding them to our library.

Thank you to Officer Lynn DeSpain, (Zoey’s mom) for coming in and sharing safety information about being a police officer.

Please remember picture day is next Tuesday, the 15th and we hope to see everyone tomorrow at the annual PTO Fall Festival!!
